How does it exactly work? Does it show up the newest posts on MR or just popular topics???

I think it shows the most up to date threads. So it'll show threads which have been updated last.

I've been using it for a little while already and it's useful to see what people are talking about without going to the frontpage.

Even though you can't post through RSS, it links directly to the thread so you can reply.

Why is it only showing those 3 threads?

You can make it show more than 3 threads by clicking the arrow pointing down at the top of the Miniriders widget. Click on Setting and you'll be able to change it to nine.

Thats what I use anyway.

PS. The bigger the better

I don't think it is the newest updated topics. Because at the same time i took that screen shot there had been new posts on this site on different topics.
