Moderator Nomination

Hi guys,

We need your help. We are seeking 3 Moderators to join the MiniRiders team.

ONLY nominate yourself (not others) and provide a brief explanation of why you'd make a good addition to the team.

The reason behind this, for those who don't know, is that the forums are getting out of our control. Five of us simply can't read all that is on the site and we would like to stop all the personal attacks and brutal swearing that goes on on threads.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Rob and the MiniRiders Team

I believe i can help stop all these brainless people.Yes i know i hardly post but i am a frequent reader in all the forums & when i have posted ive never said anything stupid.Im mature and responsible & would hate to see this site go down the drain due to some people.

This is a bit weird nominating myself but oh well. There are plenty of other people who would be good moderators but if you can only say yourself, i reckon i would make a good moderator because i am on here everyday and post regularly to help someone to the best of my knowledge and i don't post about something i don't know about, I also try to be nice to everyone on here and am quite mature for my age.

Well i guess there are going to be a bunch of people coming out of the woodwork for this one.

But i would like to nominate myself for a couple of reasons.

1. I spend a fair amount of time on this site much more than any other.

2. I am very excited to see this site really get cleaned up and running nicely.

3. I not some teenage kid that will let the power go to his head and make this site exactly what we don't want it to be.

4. I own 4 bikes myself, plus I have a decent amount of knowledge in general about bikes and I think before I type. This can cause problems if someone to were to follow my advice and I didn't know what I was talking about.

I respect a lot of people on this site and i think/hope they respect me and this is a quality a mod should definitely posses.

I would like to nominate myself.

While I may only be new to miniriders I believe my style of moderation may be welcomed at miniriders.

A little about myself. I am a 24 year old from Perth WA. I have been riding motorbikes since I was about 12 mainly ag bikes followed by me getting heavily into quads. I even dabbled in racing quads for a little while. Until I had an accident and broke most of the bones in my body! So after about 4 years my confidence is back to a level where I wanted to try a bike again but I was not sure, So thats why I decided to get into pit bikes.

I am currently a moderator on one of Australia's busiest Subaru forums GTrydaz Which I have been doing for almost 18 months. I have recently advised the admin team of that forum I wish to hang up my keyboard so to speak and give someone else a chance at having a go.

This leaves me in a position to take over another moderation position with my full attention. When I undertake moderation duties I believe in taking a very firm but fair approach. If I delete a thread or posts a pm will be sent to the poster advising what was done wrong etc. I also believe in a three strikes and you take a 2 week holiday policy (affectionately known as the ban stick). If poor behavior continues on return I recommend a longer ban at the approval of other mods.

I feel that my style of moderation will help tidy up miniriders and keep it in a good readable condition for current users and users to come.

I think that about covers me and why I think I can help miniriders. If you would like to know more you are more than welcome to contact me.

Regards
Scott

I nominate myself because...
I am not going to abuse my moderator powers
I'm going to be one of the first people to be cleaning up a forum "mess"
This is my favourite site and I am on here all the time.
I am mechanically minded.
I am computer minded.
I want to clean up the forums, I was one of the victims.
I can take this site places.

hey i think id make a good moderator because im pretty knowledgeable as people off this site who have met me in the flesh would tell u
and i for 1 want to make miniriders abetter place so that more people will join instaed of people just passing through
im on this site every day for about 5-6 hours and when i say every day i mean EVERY DAY
even if i were just to become a moderator until the site is cleaned up and then become a normal member again it would not phase me as i just want miniriders to be a better place

that would fill his inbox to quickly and the mods have arranged it to be done this way
No no, it's good to keep it in here. That way everyone can see and there is some public accountability. Also, everyone on the MiniRiders team need to see too, to help make a decision.

Before anyone asks - we haven't settled on a way to decide yet.

Anyway, this is great guys - keep 'em coming...
