CHINA BIKES – MESSAGE FROM A MEMBER
This message came in from Lejae Surch with a request to post it on the blog. So here it is just as it was received on November 5th.
—————————————————————-
Ok let me firstly start of by saying this blog entry is not trying to start
any fights and this is based on reviews on the internet and person
experiences.
The Topic Is Cheap Chinese bike I’m not another china hater that’s out to
crush some ones dreams I’m just here to give a few tips to help in the long
run. Many people that are just getting into the scene decide to buy cheap
Chinese minis to see if they will enjoy the scene but what I have come to
find is you purchase a cheap bike and trust me there nothing like a high
priced bike there handling is bad the parts a low quality and they just
break and fall apart.
Most peoples excuses are they don’t have enough money and they want one now
and they will buy a better quality one when they have enough money that’s
the thing if you buy a cheap bike your money will constantly go into fixing
them so how can you still be saving? Also after riding a cheap mini it’s
bound to turn you of the scene because there nothing likes a real mini. I
have been in the same shoes I wanted to get into the scene and I wanted a
mini now I was constantly bidding on eBay etc I finally brought a cheap one
second hand of a friend and started doing it up then it got to the point
where I got over it because all I did was fix it so I logged back onto eBay
and started bidding again but a few smart people said to me just wait man
you’ll find the bike it will be worth it in the end so I waited and what
happened I found a 2006 ttr90 with all the jaz for a bargin of a price and I
look back now and I’m glad I waited and was well worth the wait.
I hope this helps
Thanks

Yes Lejae, I agree cheap chinas are trouble and will let you down just about every ride …. however I’ve been on top level chinas for a few years and am pretty happy … the good chinas are good and getting better all the time and the new pitster is sweeping all before it so while I agrre the 500 buck ebay specials are suss the top level guys are really getting it together I reckon .

Rubbish-I’ve ridden a vmoto,Monza 50cc, from Gympie Qld, all the way down the coast, yes Princes Hwy, via Eden, Mallacoota, down to Melbourne, back up the Hume Hwy, to Sydney. Left it 5 months at the airport. Started straight off. Rode it back coastal to Brissie. No problems. apart from my sore backside. Beautiful.
No problems, you just have to service it regulary. Done 5000k’s!

I also started on chinas, and is worth owning one if only for it breaking down a little, this experience with needing to fix these probs will teach you a little if not a lot, my 155z alloy frame pitty is completely custom and does not let me down, i love the fact that i can feel good modding a cheap china than umming and arring about touching a name brand bike or quality brand fiddie, i construct these chinas straight out of the box, and yes the change of some bolts to high tensile and a complete going over, everything is loose, but thats the downfall of not researching such sites to find out the pros and cons of china bikes, i love my china bike and all my namebrand china clothes, just my thoughts, Cheers Rotn50
