i dont even bother with a bag over the carb or zorst. Just avoid aiming the hose down the exhaust... I Just get the hose out, give it blast to get all the thick shit off then a big bucket of warm - hot water with dishwashing detergent, old dishwashing brush and give it a bit of a scrub then hose again.

take it for a quick spin to get the water out of zorst if any gets in. A trick i use with the electrics is put some grease on the electrical connectors to stop them gettin full of water and corroding... i use special white (lithium??) grease cant remember the name and cudnt b bothered to go check.
