Thanks for the support guys, - FYI they're still getting through but most of their posts are getting stuck, along with posts from legit members. So in that regard we're still working at streamlining the system.
Also, I'd like to thank Matt for dealing with spam throughout the forum - he's done a great job so far. Lastly, I'd also like to thank Scott who's being looking after the forum whilst we came to the site - We're quite glad we found you.
Been here from Day one and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.
I've been doing a bit of cleaning up and The language and insulting of other members needs to stop. I think the occasional "soft" swear word is oka, as you hear them in everyday life now. But when Insulting other members or being derogatory then it will not be tolerated.
firstly id like to say sweet site, full of helpful info, mostly friendly people, and best of all.. AUSTRALIAN..
Now the concerns.. How often are the "MODS" checking the forum? just seems to be lots of off topic BS goin on. admitadly iv flamed people(within reason) but only due to stupid inconsiderate posting.
Personally id like to see a few of the dedicated members have higher privagles(within reason) to maybe stamp out this sort of behaviour. I understand the MODS cant read EVERY SINGLE POST and cant watch over the forum 24/7, its a BIG job, with little to gain.
Maybe those with sufficient knowledge should have the option to remove/edit/warn etc members regarding;
a: Off topic chat in specific topics.
b: The "my insert bike, is better than your "insert bike" piece of $hit.-given
the fact its an open forum i understand we all can be heard, but also believe it makes a messy and unreadable format.
c: 15 topics on the one subject, ie: "Is this bike any good?" or What is wrong with my (insert bike) " "is the (bike) better than the (bike)"
other forums i am on have "bibles"or "Manufacturer" titles to specific brands, giving information such as gearing, motors, suspension, good sides and down falls, wheel tyre combos etc.
d: the use of slang and really bad typos..WE ARE IN AUSTRALIA USE FRIGGIN ENGLISH! Im a believer of If you want to be heard you must speak aloud, mumbling wont get you there. or in this case, badly written posts are a pain in the arse to read can be misleading, and often interprited the wrong way, not helping anyones situation.
This is makes a good forum into a terrific one. If people can come on, search, post and find the information they need, without being flamed, bagged, have to read through dribble, the member numbers will rise, thus giving this site a bigger audiance, more information, more advertising, possibly profit(depending how it is setup) and wider respect and recongnition through out the mini-bike/motorcycle community.
Do we really want to be known as "Oh, THAT Forum"
This is entirely my opinion, its nothing against the MODS or OWNER of the site. Its up to US as MEMBERS to make this place an online resource for those with questions, to give an example, to help someone out, not saying this isnt being done.. just not done in a more 'organised way'
ok its 4am, im going to bed. RANT OVER FOR NOW.
Oh finally whats the deal with only 6 photos in the members gallery and only four per post?!? can this be changed??
