Guide Me Through Getting My License. - SA

Hey guys.

I highly considering getting a car & a motorbike license in SA I would buy a bike and use one of my parents cars when I would need it.

Can you guide me through the process of getting a license for a bike. What tests do I have to do? How much money will it cost?

How much $ is rego?

I'm considering getting a postie bike ct110 (yeah yeah I know they aren't that great) but they are so reliable and cheap.

I would upgrade bikes eventually. I would use a postie bike on my L's and until I could afford a better bike.

Please give me some detailed information.

thanks guys.

Hey sid, Im doing the same thing in a few months, getting a wr250f.

I had a few good websites on this, one being the Honda website, I'll see if I can find them for you, you should come and ride with us when you get your ct110!

road trip!!! lol.

how much are you expecting to pay for a wr?

How much can you get a second hand one for? I would rather that over a postie.

My mate recently got his bike license in SA,

from start to end the license cost him $650, that includes all fees, taxes etc,

there was a WR for $3000 recently in local rag, you just gotta becareful though cause some of these older bikes can end up costing a futune in repairs and maintenace,

Getting an 01 to 04 model for 4,000 to 5,000 and so is my mate. Ive seen THREE 02 to 03 models go for $4,000 on eBay!! So annoyed I dont have the money yet I couldve baught one. Buying mine around the start of next year.

And yeah a WR would beat a postie bike in almost every way haha.

Its gonna be awsome riding through quarries and the hundreds of trails through the adelaide hills.

Get your self a nice yz250wr, rmx250, exc200,250,300, cr250e (if you can find one). Thats where the real fun and power is, not no small 250f.
