Noise Reduction?

So far I've seen a few ways to do this.

-Steal wool, chicken wire, mesh wrapping

-Silencer cones, little things to put in the end of the pipe

-A proper muffler/silencer from a motorcycle shop

In your opinion what would give the greatest noise reduction without completely killing performance?

Cheers

Ive repacked the muffler with steel wool this helped a bit. Its not as tightly packed as it was from stock.

I also put a metal garden hose connector in the end of my ehaust which brought the hole down to about 1cm.
But i took that out as i thought it might be damaging the engine, im not sure if it does though, But it made it pretty quiet.

you could always replace your engine with a pedal system, it's really quiet
