I bought a wireless cycling speedo for my pitpro for $20 inc delivery the other day. Took ages for me to figure out that it wasn't working cos the magneto was interfering with the reciever.
It worked fine with the engine off, but engine on and it went up to 99.9km/h!
yeh that's what i do. i used an aviation gps tho, so its in miles, and i was pinned and it shows up like around 50 and im like "what the hell!!" lol, cos i knew i was going much more than 50 but i was doing like closrt to 85kph...
hps is best suggestion, or get a better speedo, good idea for telling us...before we learn out the hard way.
cheers

You must have bought a piece of shit mate and for $20 you wouldnt expect much less. The one i have retails for $60 and it works perfectly. Its a perfect way to count hours on your engine and your riding time and speeds etc. Buy a decent one and you will love it.
Captain Dust i think in that thread they were talking about normal cycling speedos not wireless ones like what jono is referring to because that would explain the interference.
