Hey mate
the front headlight is as easy as going to epping cycleys and getting an enduro style headlight kit
switches are cheap but ur front break should already have the switch an
the rear is a epping job
KMART for a horn and mirrors

the headlights gonna be a problem as u dont have a rectifier or all other parts thats are needed

look around for a rec reg kit and itll make ur life alot easier

cheers
dave

Thanks Dave. Do you know any shops that sell rec reg kits (i'll have a look this weekend) ?

Also, do you know if a air "squeezey style" horn will suffice for getting rec reg? This would be cool if it is.

Why do I need a rectifier? If i wire the light directly to the battery with a switch?

im pretty shore off the top of my head that its because the light will drain from the battry and the rectifyer has something to do with keeping constant voltage

and epping cycles off cooper street will beable to or have in stock wat ya after

cheers

ok im a sparky, so ill explain.

Ue engine will be puting huge ammounts power from the magneto/alternator. and if u put a headlight on and rev the bike it will produce more power than what globe in ur headlight can handle and blow in a short time.

the rectifier will drop the voltage down to say 12V, if is a 12V rectifier and keep it at 12V even when u rev it, so the globe wont blow.

simple enough?

Cool.

I was just planning on running the lights directly from the battery, not from magneto/alternator (as this sounds like more work and also because I don't have a clue how to wire this method up).

Don't see why I would need the rectifier if i'm running from the battery- as it's already DC current.

if the bike is already being charged by the bike then it will have a rectifier on it!
