The clutch slack should be easily adjustable. Of course you don't want it so tight that your clutch slips or so loose/slack that you cannot disengage your clutch. But mostly it's an ergo thing - to take your riding speed and fun up a notch.
The reason why bigger MX bikes (and the Pitster Pro 08 too I think) have very easily adjustable clutches is so that you can do one or 2 finger clutch control while still having a good comfortable hold on the left hand grip. In other words, say your bike is difficult to control (eg. hang on to) and accelerating out of a very rough corner, plus you need to fan the clutch to connect the exact right amount of engine torque/rpm with your rear wheel - then the ideal lever position during the fanning will be different for people with different hands and also different cable adjustment is required as your clutch wears out. You have to ride your bike to set it right.
If you only use your clutch to change gears and you are riding your fastest laps for what feels like a long time for you, then you can still save your left hand/arm a little fatigue by setting your clutch adjustment to how it suits you. Generally speaking: Larger hands = less slack and visa versa. Also an outward lever design requires more slack and visa versa.
I rode my new MSO for a few minutes to warm the oil up, then one the first things I did was adjust the clutch cable so that the clutch engaged right where my left and hand felt very comfortable and my thumb and outside fingers had a good hold of hold on the bar/bike.
