where abouts are you based at dozza!?? for a motorbike shop NOT to accept any bike into the workshop isnt right!!? thats money they are loosing!
have to agree with hillz, if you couldnt work out where the spark plug was or how to check to see if you have spark, its better left to someone with a bit of knowledge..
have you contacted the place of purchase? be polite, be specific in your questions and if possible email them with clear photos and a diagnostic of what you have done..
It will more than likely be a simple problem that frustrates you to the utmost degree but once its sorted you will know how to fix it later. If you have listened and paid attention. Keep persisting at tracing the source of your troubles.
Good luck with it and keep us posted.
edit: just saw your post.. oh o..
ok 99.9% of spark plugs are white(im guessing your looking at the end the cap goes on lol.. its like a porcelin(great for smashing windows in a wrecked cars) you need to get the plug out. to do this you will need a PLUG SPANNER.. MAKE sure it fits correctly!!
judging by the little to no experiance you have with working on mechanicals id suggest calling someone who does, or finding a shop to accept your woes.. be prepaired to have to pay upto $100 at a shop.. depending on what they have to do..
PLEASE, for the sake of your bikes health, DO NOT attempt to work on it alone or without supervision from someone who has at least changed a plug prior! PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE!!
Keep us updated...
