the simple step by step guide is to remove the aircleaner for the carby and then add one cup of petrol to a clean container then soak this aircleaner in this for 30 seconds then carefully squeeze out into another container, do this process 3 times . now you can spray on some air cleaner oil which is available at any motor cycle shop, not too much oil as all thats needed is to keep dust to the outer and not the inner. very easy.

yeah thats it man, clean her off with petrol, squeeze and i find putting in front of a fan is really effective as it will really evaporate the petrol as the oil will stop the petrol from being able to be evaporated. when done either use the air filter spray OR use the bottol job but with the bottol tip a small ammount into your hands and massage into the foam, doesnt need to cover thickly, remember the trick here is a LIGHT coat.

Cheers, Tony.

do not use petrol as its not good for the foam or glue that is used

get yourself a couple of ice cream containers with the lids that you can put away until next time

a litre or 2 kerosene in the icecream bucket, if you can find an old servo with a kero pump you only pay about a buck a litre

wash the filter in the kero to get rid of the old oil

then wash in a bucket of soapy water

allow to dry

now your other icecream bucket you put your bottle of air filter oil into the bucket , dip the filter in there and squeze lightly the excess out

put the lids on the icecream buckets for next time

allow the filter to dry preferably overnight

refit filter and ride

tip laxtex gloves are $10 or so for a 100 pack, very useful for doing air filters
