electrical tips

Just got my 2 boys a bike each, going ok but not to good when getting wet.
Smallest amount of water and start to cough or die.
Any tips to prevent or overcome this would be great.

if it the wires up under the seat just get some black electrical tape from the hardware store and wrap the exposed joints to prevent from gettin wet.
