Tire, Tube etc sizes

Hey guys just wondering what all the numbers and stuff mean on wheels and what my tyre sizes would be. I know that the tyres say 14 3.00 and 12 2.50 but when i was shopping on ebay for tyres they had fractions instead. so any way guys thanks, cyas

well 14 stands for 14" tyre the 3.00 stands for the width of the tyre, same principle with the 12" - 2.50

the 70/100 bit means its 70mm from the rim. or tyre height, and 100 mm across, or width. the two combined determine the radius of the tyre profile. ie, an 80/100 is more round than the 70/100, if you take a cross section of the tyre. the 80 will hook in faster on a turn with less lean angle. or the bike will lean easier... something like that

the 12 and 14 is obviously rim diameter.

dont worry about tube size...as long as the diameter is ok(10, 12, 14, etc), they will do the job of holding air. usually only find 3.00 in the smaller diameters anyway.

the 37m and 41m are just tread patterns.
