1968?? z50

hi all, new member here. I just picked up what i believe is a 1968 honda z 50. serial number matches to that year z50a-108690, but engine number are off by just a few, still a k0 though. Is this normal they don't match? Also under the seat is a round pice of metal welded to the frame, almost looks like a beer holder. any one knowwhat this is?? or is it someones extra trinket they put on themselves. thanks all mike . great site
